On the morning of June 11th, Canyon Records recording artist Dennis “DJ” Danforth, Jr. (left) successfully underwent kidney transplant surgery with his brother and fellow Canyon artist Gerald Danforth (right) as the kidney donor.  DJ and Gerald are members of the Oneida Nation and reside on the tribe’s reservation in Wisconsin.  They sing with the Elk Soldier drum group based out of Ft. Randall, South Dakota. DJ has been a long time singer with the championship drum group, Tha Tribe.  DJ and Gerald are now at home and are recovering well surrounded by their loving family and supported by their large community of friends from the Pow-Wow Trail. They’re valued members of the Canyon Records Family, and we send them our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery and look forward to the day when they’re singing at the drum.
